Miguel Vasquez vs Gamboa

    Top Rank vs Top Rank fighter. Most around here seem to believe Gamboa is going to clean out 126 and 130. I could see Gamboa eventually landing in his last division in 135. Miguel Vasquez a young champion from Mexico with very underated boxing skills IMO. IMO Gamboa would still have good power at 135, good enough to hurt most 135 pounders. Anyways how would this fight play out? I could see it happening 2013 or something. I know just a fantasy fight but interesting contrast in styles

    Gamboa easy UD. He is fighting Ponce de Leon in September. So that won't be for a while.

    Too early to tell. Gamboa hasnt fought at 135lbs.

    Well one thing for sure is that Ponce is gonna make Gamboa look like Little Superman on Peds..... I like Poince tough strong guyand pretty good puncher.. But this will be a misamtch.. Gamboa is gonna be able to land at will, and that spells vixious highlight ko.. when you matching the most explosive guy in boxing (pfp) against probably the slowest stiffest world class guy in the lighter division..

    Vasquez on the other hand is the one opponent that could be all wrong for Gamboa...In fact i think Vasquez beats him ...

    I think Gamboa will still be a good puncher at LW(not llike fw though) and shouldnt lose to much speed if any... But Vasquez is a real cageu and tricky fighter, and does all the thinks to frustrate a fighter... He has the tools to frustrate Gamboa .Along with big height advantage sharp jab,good footwork he and good speed himself, he will be able to nulllify Gamboas speed...... Another think is Vasquez is a huige Lw and Gamboa wil be a short lw... Hes not gonna be able to dart in and out so easlily against a guy like vasquez,, THink Forrest-Mosley I Wlad-BYrd,WInky-Mosley, Wlad-BYrd.. Those type of matchups seem to trouble even the speediest fighers. Vaasquez also has a hell of a chin your talking bout a guy who went the distance with a young Canelo twice at Welter, and supposedly gave him all he wanted.. Also went 10 with Jw King bradely...Half his fights have been at WW or Jw so i dont think Gamboas power will bother him... Not to mention whupped big punchers, Prescott,Kim and Zappavignia./ NOt a god puncher but decent enough to keep opponents honest... Gamboa overwhelms and manhandles most of ther fw.. But against Vasquez he wont bring those same advantages... Gamboa is flashier faster,But Vasquez bigger,tougher,and better boxer..... Gamboa can box too but he relys on his athleticsm more,. IMO Gamboa is one of the elite fighters in the game, but ill bet you once speed starts to fade he wojt be that special... Like Mosley,Jones,cAMACHO,tAYLOR and unlike MAYWEATHER,wHITTAEKR,toNEY,hOPKINS WHO WERE SLICK EVEN WHEN THE SPEED FAFADED.
