There's a nice under-the-radar LW bout in the making. Miguel Vazquez, who recently took Ji Hoon Kim to elementary school could face cocky Philadelphian Henry Lundy for the IBF 135lbs belt.

Vazquez is 26-3 with 12KOs, with 2 losses coming from Saul Alvarez (one in Vazquez's debut) and one from #1 LWW Tim Bradley, all on points. The 23 year-old Mexican however moved down to lightweight after these bouts where he beat undefeated Breidis Prescott and came close to stop Kim for the IBF belt in a shutout, so 135 suits him much better. He's an awkward technician with good angles, he's hard to hit and has a pretty good stamina.

Lundy is of course known for his stupidity that cost him the John Molina fight - and his perfect record - back in July. He was dominating Molina but got cocky and paid for the mistake, he was dropped in the 8th and stopped on his feet in the 11th. Lundy is naturally gifted and has a lot of talent, but seems to be the undisciplined type, which of course makes things more interesting for the fan. He came back with an easy 10 round win in August.

It's a good high caliber under the radar fight, and whoever comes out on top could have a word or two in the lightweight division. My vote is on Vazquez outworking Lunky or possibly stopping him late.

    No date or venue set.

Id pick Lundy. We know Vasquez will most probably be the one backing up, so i envisage Lundy applying pressure, but not in a predictable, one dimensional way looking for one punch, which is what Prescott was doing. I think Lundy has the skills to put the pressure on cautiously and cut Vasquez down, although I agree, in the Molina fight he hardly covered himself in glory, his mental stability leaves a bit to be desired, however i dont think that mess you about kind of style that Vasquez seems to have, will work against Lundy.

I thought Lundy was too stupid and too arrogant.

I sincerely hope Vazquez lays a horrid beating to his ass. Lundy is just a poor mans LW Roy Jones, relying too much on his reflexes.

Seeing him be broken down by Molina was one of the best sights to behold.

    :bbb Vazquez :bbb

Lundy loses to Molina and then fights in a lackluster match and gets a title shot? Shouldnt John Molina have got the shot to fight Vazquez? I don't know.

You would figure Molina would have gotten the title shot before Lundy but I guess not. But this is still a good fight. Not sure who to pick but I think I'd lean towards Lundy. It would be nice if this got some tv coverage.

i agree with the last 2 that molina deserves the fight

and this guy beat Kim and Prescott who are better than Lundy

I'll take Vazquez who is a more experienced and complete fighter

Lundy can box.... probably has faster hands and is a tough guy.... he should easily outbox Vasquez..

Lundy, has learned from his mistakes. Even though I thought the stoppage was very premature. Lundy, will take this Miguel kid to school.

Good fight but why is Lundy getting the opportunity and Molina is on the sidelines when he beat Lundy?

Molina took a much lower-caliber opponent on an ESPN card in two or three months. Vazquez impressed me recently but really, his two nice wins are against pretty limited, straight-forward brawlers in Prescott and Kim. I think Lundy will fight smarter and win a decision
