Nistor knocked Brazilian Fernando Simoes down three times in the first round for a stoppage victory. Nistor is definitely one of the top punchers in the division.

Too late for him. I hope I am wrong, but he seems like another one whose pro career is an afterthought.

I think at 31 he could still make a push, but he's probably too small for HW these days. Might be worth it to try and boil down to CW.

It's a shame really, a lot of overseas fighters especially eastern euros can really get stone walled even after they turn pro old. Pity pro boxing doesn't really have the genuine desire to showcase the best or potentially best talent out there. Each promotion/network/special interest group ****ing each other over due to pure greed.

I see he is a ranked bridger. I know we all hate the division, but it may be his best shot.

Ivan Dychko is another example. Talented fighter that’s not being given good opportunities.

Yep, his choice of promoter was very poor, from the get go. I think there's been plenty. Golovkin with Universum, being held back to protect their main man, Felix Sturm, at the time. Matt Korobov, overall had plenty of chances but most came too late for him, Top Rank ****ed him around for years. Pro boxing would have to be the only sport that supresses talent instead of showcasing it.

Is he still coming into the ring looking like a tub of lard?

Pity. Nistor was a hell of a fighter back in the WSB days, but his pro career has been underwhelming to say the least. And if he's lost his speed and explosiveness then his small size is only going to become a greater hindrance to him.
