Yea he is with Beristain. This kid is going to be a future p4p star.
I think he might be a little too big for Mijares.

I knew it!..you gotta hand it to nacho..his fighters style is so distinct..he gives them all the tools necessary to be successful..its like a ****in template.."Go out with this style young man and you will win"

Mijares is tall enough he can actually get to bantam. The problem is I think Mares cuts to get to bantam..

And if he wins both those matchups, he can fight the winner of Kirilov-Darchinyan early next year. If he wins all those fights convincingly hes top 3 or 4 p4p in book.

Which of these matchups do you think he'd lose? I personally favour him in all of them and i don't find it that outrageous.

He'd beat Munoz by a fairly Wide UD, his boxing skills don't compare to Cristians and his defence is pretty sub-par. His footwork isn't to great either and I think he'll be peppered from the outside. When Munoz comes in attempting to land his bombs, i expect Cristian to just take a step to the side and counter him with combinations. Munoz has great power but i doubt he'll KO Mijares due to Cristian's solid Chin and ability to roll with punches.

Montiel is without a doubt the toughest matchup and would be a fairly hard fight for Mijares. I feel Mijares would win a fairly competitive decision (8-4ish) due to his boxing skills and workrate. Montiel's defence isn't very good and i feel he'd have alot of trouble with a slick, high-workrate counterpuncher. He was troubled by Gorres's southpaw stance and movement and i think Cristian would implore the same strategy. I think Montiel would win some rounds due to Mijares's tendancy to fight in the pocket at times, where Fernando's explosive combos and body attack will cause damage. Montiel also bruises and cuts up pretty easily and that doesn't fit well with a sharp counterpuncher renown for rearanging people faces.

He'd beat Kirilov by a wide UD, he'd just plan outbox him similiar to what Tokuyama did. I don't think he would beat Mijares on the ouside due to Cristians height and reach advantage, superior counterpunching and workrate. In his fight with Reynaldo Lopez he had alot of trouble with the southpaw stance, which obviously puts him at a big disadvantage. Dimitri doesn't have enough power to really bother Mijares and he'd go in and out of range peperring him. Kirilov isn't really the greatest fighter anyway, hes quite lucky to hold a belt really.

Now Darchinyan would be an easy night for Cristian aslong as he doesnt stand toe to toe and brawl. He's basically better than Vic in every department (except power) and has a huge style advatange. He'd dominate Vic from the outside, somewhat like Donaire except he wouldnt take as much in return due to his greater defence. Vic would get totally outboxed, outworked, outmanouvered, out everythinged, this wouldnt be pretty. Mijares would stop him.

    That is all :good

Well, even in 09 Mares might still be a bit green and short on top comp. experience as he only has 16 pro fights right now.

Nacho will do great things for this kid though, and when he reaches his prime he will be a beast.

I think about as much as Mares as I do Linares in the long run.
