Pretty much. Arce was already fading around that time and Mijares laid a terrible beating on him to say the least, which made him even more faded and affected him emotionally a bit as well IMO. Arce was behind on the cards before the Rojas KO too. It was really sad watching Arce's last fight.. he is nearly shot at this point and a fighter like him can only be effective at the top level when he's young and prime. He really needs to retire.
Yes Arce is finished, it's unfortunate to see a fighter who has given so much to the sport in this state. Lets just hope he doesn't fight Israel Vasquez at 122 like he wants to, that would be brutal.
Unfortunately, yes. Arce was humiliated by Mijarez. He ended the fight beat up and bloody, and above all, psychologically ripped to pieces. Arce was already contemplating retirement before the Rojas fight. Sadly, his career is ending. He was very fun to watch though.
i think arce could still get a belt at 118, the division is lacking talents after all, perhaps from one of the japanese champs
beatings like that can ruin a fighter. arce's a cool down to earth guy...he should quit or have a few easy fights just to bring in a little more cash. if he fights mijares again, he wont make it to the final bell.
