mijares has become ridiculously overrated by people here.

If he does I'll be very surprised. Joe should whoop Old man Hopkins. Its not like Joe is fighting a Prime Bhop....otherwise Joe wouldn't stand much of a chance in beating Bernard. Joe's reservations about fighting in the states and challenging himself has actually helped him in this area.

Unfortunately this will be the ONLY notable victory in his long and wasted career...and even a win over a 44 yr old hopkins will be tainted due to his advanced age. Joe really should have tested himself and challenged his talents earlier instead of wasting his attributes just to keep his "0".

Mijares is an even better counterpuncher and Donaire stylistically doesn't like jabbers and workrate, two things Mijares is tremendous with.

Donaire has no experience on top of it, he'd be a fish out of water against Mijares. Everyone brings up Mijares drawing with Maldo, but Maldo has been badly declined since then and Mijares has improved A LOT, he's not even the same fighter.

Montiel being picked is much more reasonable than Donaire.

    **** Donaire

That's a fight I've wanted to see for a long time, Mijares - Donaire, just to shut people up

    It's on my dream card

Montiel will beat Mijares ... possibly knock him out ... Mijares is good ... but he's flat on his feet, stiff, and I question his chin ...

He seem to have trouble with Navarro, in his last fight ... he didn't go toe to toe with Arce -- was sorta scarce ...

I think Montiel matches him in speed, has great defense, alot of power at that weight class, and has only lost 2wice and one fight was when he moved up in weight.

So I take it NO ONE has seen Mijares draw with Luis, then?

    It's overrated...

    Sure.

Mijares has the bad mexican machismo trait of fighting other people's fights, it's lessening as of recent, he's really honed his boxing skills, but this was a case where he warred.

However, my score was Mijares 7 to 5, clear.

Mijares has basically come out of nowhere, with no amatuer experience, he was meant to be someone easy for Luis to KO. Also note that Maldo was a lot better back then, has been very declined as of recent.

It's funny that Arce was supposed to blow through Mijares also.:hey

Donaire got clout for beating an overrated Darchynian - both of those guys suck. Mijares beat Donair easily and he beats Vic ...

I really don't see how Montiel serves a better chance to beat Mijares over Donaire.

He was only 20 years old or younger, though.
