is it safe to say now that vic ruined mijares?

 

Wow, it's hard for me to remember a guy who was SO hyped who went straight down the tubes as fast. Sad.

Actually, no Mijares had to have been more hyped. I was partly responsible! :rofl

 

amsterdam has this way of hyping a fighter to some king or god-like proportion and influencing other posters opinion. but still mijares was no hype and his masterclass domination of arce back then was no fluke. it was really surprising that he is struggling now and we could only look at how darchinyan took a lot from him physically and most especially his confidence.

Depends, did Cermeno knock Mijares out twice in a row? Nope...so I guess it's not safe to say that. The only thing Vic would have ruined is his chin; clearly moot. I guess maybe you make the case he ruined his confidence?

 

Mijares was incredibly talented though. Such a fall from grace.

 

i see. i never saw both the cermeno fight so i'm asking. i checked boxrec and cermeno is a bantam and the fight happened there. it could also be a case where mijares could not carry the extra weight.
