That mutha****a! Did you hear what he said?

"I told you all I'm going to destroy him and knock him out. I delivered! What is he pound4pound? Number 6?"

    Dammit he has a point!!!

Oh... he was talking about himself??? Didn't catch that.... LOL!!!

You do know that almost everybody picked Mijares. It seemed like a no-brainer for a Mijares win. We were all suprised Vic won, oh wait not you, you're a genius.....

    I'm disappointed.

I've never watched Mijares before (I had to stream to watch him now, and it was an unusually good quality stream fortunately) and I was very disappointed not to see this "Master Boxer" that I'd heard so much about. An off night? Or is Darchinyan just a style nightmare? Or is Mijares just not as good as first thought? Or is Darchinyan better than thought?

Very good questions... better make a thread asking them to see what answers you get. Right now I can't think clearly, I must say I'm stunned by Vic's KO!

Mijares has the technical skills that were originally preached about, he just doesn't have it upstairs to keep the fight at his pace because of his arrogance. When Vic lured him into a slugfest, he obliged, got beat up, got frustrated, and couldn't re-group. But hey, that's why they fight, so we can figure these things out about fighters.

Mijares was heavily favored in the fight because of the hype he was built up to. That was no surprise, VIC carries bombs, and once it hits you, its over

This is the second boxer that Darchinyan dominates. the other was Kirilov. They seemed to have issues with Vic's unorthodox style... especially Mijares. Didn't he watch tapes of the guy? He didn't seem to have an answer for anything and didn't have a plan B.

I think Vic is poison for boxers like Mijares and Kirilov. He is so different and since he doesn't lunge that much, he is hard to counter and put down easily now. So he screws people up, plus the guy was working that body.

Third boxer if you count his title winning effort against the long reigning champion Irene Pacheco.

Yep, you're right forgot about that one. Either way, I think if they meet again, Vic stylistically imposes his fight better than Mijares. If I would have heard of Mijares, I would have thought of him as another B level fighter being fed to Darchinyan. Im also watching Nonito right now and was reminded how much bigger he is than VIc and is a bad match up if they meet again also. BTW Donaire just beat Mthlane by cut stoppage.
