Lame stoppage but cant really say it was a bad one. Oganov was taking to many shots and several times earlier Cheech said "you gotta show me something" which he never really did. All in all though I dont think Dirrell looked that convincing tonight.
The ref speaks the truth. Oganov did shudder at the very end there. Dirrell could have mauled him if he realized it.
OK. :blood It's great!!! :happy Right on. And yes, it WAS a bit LAME, if the guy seemed really hurt like 10 seconds AFTER the actual stoppage I wouldn't have any problem. Plus, the ref missed the low blow. :verysad
He definitely was hurt...but it felt very out of nowhere ish. The punch didn't really land cleanly enough to resonate to those watching at home. He could've and should've stopped it earlier but he ****ed up the low blow call so it's no surprise he botched this too.
I think just the fact that it was on the back of Oganov's best round, a round where Dirrell practically completely stopped punching made it a lot worse. It just seemed a little out of place, but in the end he was getting beat up and some refs might have stopped the fight as early as the first.
Good to see you're always in these R-b-R threads, I luv em too! And LOL @ the Jim Grey comment - I ****ing hate him
It was only a matter of time really. The stoppage wasn't unnecessary it just seemed a tad out of place, especially at the start of a round. He could've stopped it during the Calzaghe flurry in round 1 or after the string of uppercuts at the end of round 4.
