Donaire. I thought this fight was going to happen before Darchinyan got to Mijares, but it never did. But I don't really want to see this fight anymore, Mijares is pretty shot. Donaire would hurt him bad.

Mijares has lost his last two. I think Montiel would be a better match up.

I won't be popular, but I still think the Mijares who fought Navarro, Munoz and Darchinyan outboxes Donaire. He was slick, very hard to hit and an elite lefty technician, better than anyone Donaire has ever fought. Of course he lost to Darchinyan and was unimpressive since then (like most fighters who were beat up by Vic), but styles make fights, and Darchinyan just took him apart. Donaire is a different kind of a fighter, he's a boxer-puncher, and I don't think he can do the same. In a boxing match, I take Mijares by decision. Of course the post-Vic Mijares would lose to Donaire, I think it destroyed Mijares mentally.

Shame we didn't get this fight when both were on the top.

Monuz and Arce are slow which exaggerated Mijares speed, in movement and punches, it made him look faster than he really is. Nonito has some speed to stay with him and punch with him. Also N.D hits harder than Mijares. Nonito wins this on points. Montiel is the real test for Darchi and Donaire TBH not Mijares.

I would rather have Donaire rematch w/ Darchi who was knocked out in the 5th round in their last fight.
