This really sucks imo, donaire probably gets the winner as both are easily on too ranks side. mares left the belt instead of keeping it by facing terrazas which would have been great but terrazas is top rank, donaire may just end up staying longer at 122 while mares is filling in at 126. Donaire may very well become the ring champ if he takes out riglassdeux next then the winner of this wbc clash. mares at 126 is iffy to me, but he's been the under dog many times and always surprises
I thought Donaire was already ring champ? I've seen Mijares name surfacing for a while now but haven't really seen much else. I heard he has been on a win streak but I don't know the competition. How is he looking?
Actually much improved. He was long ago written off as ruined but he seems to have rebounded nicely. The move up in weight seems to have only helped.
Just pulled up Mijares's boxrec. I didn't realize it has been that long since Vic beat him (part of getting older, this happens all the time now). He's on a nice little run, but I think it stops with Terrazas.
Good to hear. Weight struggle seems to affect some more than others. He wouldn't be the first that looked better moving up a bit.
Mijares too good in this one Taking nothing away from Terrazas, the wins over Montiel & Cermeno are solid but he looked awful last time out
