He needs to step up his comp. I want to see what happens when this happens. He looks tough, and can punch a bit, but it is when you are hit back is when you can tell if a prospect is/has the goods.

yeah he is, man he gave miguel huerta a beating, almost tough to watch the poor guy take all those shots. but give him all the credit for staying up and not qutting, huertas a tough dude, shame we probly wont get to see much of these guys any more without solo boxeo. its sad really, i always looked forward to knowing there was a good fight on tv friday nights for free. the show will be missed.

Major props to Alvarado. Miguel Angel Huerta is a tough dude. His resume is better than how it looks, the guy just has bad luck. IMO he was robbed against Juaregui, Kid Diamond, Ortiz, and Sosa.

That was a good little fight. Huerta is rugged as hell.

Those guys looked stronger than full-grown oxen on BALCO plans; I had to read their trunks to make sure it was the right fight, thinking "****, aren't these supposed to be junior welterweights???"

Huerta still has a p4p chin IMO, it's weird to say that of a guy with so many stoppage losses but he's never been cleanly knocked and counted out. This was a brutal stoppage over a very durable guy who was trying his damnedest to return fire right up until the end.

These guys just picked away at each other's armor non-stop, trading body shots before one of them (typically Huerta) would open up and the fistic crossfire would migrate chinward. Both looked strong like I said, and both were throwing carefully selected bruising shots. Alvarado was just younger, stronger, sharper, and better and wore his man down.

Props to both. Hopefully Miguel can still land a few paydays as a gatekeeper either at 135 or 140, I've been firmly in his corner since the Diamond robbery. As for Alvarado, we should definitely be seeing him on English-language cable television in the (hopefully near) future.

Very fitting and worthy sendoff to the beloved (and already missed) Solo Boxeo Tecate! :good
