Round 2

Martinez comes out to meet Alvarado, flurrying briefly but forced to tie up. Alvarado is using his power, throwing fewer shots but putting a lot into them. Martinez is wrestling him and keeping his arms pinned on the inside, turning him around. Taps to the body by Martinez, and he ties up again. Alvarado throws a hard jab, doubled and followed by the powerful cross that skids along the back of the ducking Martinez.

Round 3

Alvarado is coming forward landing jabs as Martinez tries to plant his feet and prepare to flurry, and smacking Martinez with the right hand as he backs up. Martinez is hugging and grappling at every turn. Alvarado keeps coming, landing overhands and uppercuts but swallowing some flurries in his face. Alvarado is probably getting outlanded but his shots have much more steam on them and are affecting Martinez more profoundly.

Round 4

Alvarado is landing jabs and bringing the right hand smashing down on Martinez from the outside, getting grabbed as he falls in. Alvarado keeps bringing the axe down and Martinez complains about a rabbit punch although the right hand landed legally. Alvarado walks Martinez across the ring and throwing powerful overhand rights behind his jab, with Martinez just evading them by the skin of his teeth. Martinez isn't getting much opportunity to counter as Alvarado keeps him on the defensive.

Round 5

Alvarado is pushing Martinez back with just the threat of his jab. Martinez is giving up ground and just reaching out with a few counter combos usually with his back to the ropes. Alvarado lands a solid hook. Martinez jabs and moves. Alvarado lands a big right coming forward and Martinez again holds him tightly, spinning around as Alvarado tries to shake loose. Double jab and right hand by Martinez falling in, but all blocked. Alvarado pushes him back with powerful straight shots.

Round 6

Alvarado is whipping out his jab and chasing Martinez. Alvarado ducks and swerves into Martinez, leaning against him with his forearms. Alvarado takes a hook to the body from a squatting and scurrying Martinez but just muscles him back and then pounds him to the canvas! Martinez is on a knee and Alvarado gets another shot in! The referee rules it a slip! atsch Alvarado comes on hard, throwing blistering jabs and overhand rights as Martinez desperately tries to thrust him away with straight counters.
