Against Marvin Colbert was really motivated and thus put up a good fight from what I saw, against Tommy he didn`t have the same fire burning within however and thus got beaten soundly, thats pretty much it really.
Styles... Also Colbert was an undefeated top contender when he fought Halger. By the time he fought Tommy, he had, had two further defeats, one to a tough journeyman (Robles), and another to the inconsistent Charlie Weir.
