I would say Mike Gibbons all the way.

Gibbons is one of the most underrated middleweights of all time. He was a consumate master boxer who was efective against agresive fighters and his schooling of Jack Dillon gave Gene Tunney the template for beating Jack Dempsey.

Mike Gibbons. The man dominated Jack Dillon, who was a better Lightheavy than Papke was a middleweight, and similarly aggressive. Mike Gibbons would out-smart and out-box Papke to a decision win.
