    Or some links:

he Nevada State Athletic Commission on Thursday amended its rule for glove size, putting Las Vegas into the hunt to land the much-anticipated July 26 bout between welterweight titleholder Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito.

Cotto and Margarito have always fought in 8-ounce gloves and prefer to continue fighting in them. But under a provisional rule that has been used for the past couple of years in Nevada, boxers who weighed more than the 135-pound lightweight limit had to wear 10-ounce gloves.

In virtually every other jurisdiction in the world, fighters wear 8-ounce gloves up to the 147-pound welterweight class with 10-ounce gloves being worn in fights over 147 pounds.

Fighters 135 pounds and heavier will be required to use 10-ounce gloves. Previously, fighters 147 pounds and below could use eight-ounce gloves, which provide less padding and theoretically allow a boxer to punch harder.

Nevada has already been experimenting with some of the rule changes. An extra doctor will be ringside during Saturday's Fernando Vargas-Shane Mosley fight, and each fighter will be examined immediately afterward. The glove requirements will take effect in August.

WTF are you babbling about ???? 147 and BELOW are 8oz gloves, 154 and up are 10 oz gloves. at 154 is BOTH fighters agree they can use 8oz...

floyd tried to get odh and cotto to agree to fight in 8oz gloves but they wouldnt agree so they wore 10oz.

12oz gloves ? i know floyd trains in 12oz lots BUT i dont know of ANYONE wearing them in a sanctioned bout. i have to assume you are talking out your ass and have NO idea what youre talking about. pretty sure there is a boxing 101 you should read like 1k x

no he didnt, if he did it would have been tko round 4/5.

floyds team tried to get cotto to agree to 8oz but he didnt, he said he likes the 10oz for defense. and they almost let floyd wear 8 and cotto 10 but the comm said they HAVE to wear the same weight gloves.

where do you people get this mental rumors, and why would you believe such nonsense ?

Jones had stamina issues for as long as I can remember. A 4 round fighter who starts to fade quickly after 6. He was always a KO waiting to happened.

Nope, he asked for them and Cotto refused, you really need to learn boxing.

    They used 10 oz.
