I like Jones but I can't imagine he'll be able to fight at 147 much longer. He looks like a middleweight to me.

Funny to see no one complaining about the way he is getting a title shot. Of course Canelo and Jr. get ragged on for how they got theirs but not the American guy.

Such double standards in here. Bailey is one of the most overrated punchers in the history of boxing and this is just another young prospect getting a gift title. Except no one is complaining about it.

Well he is actually ranked number 1 for the IBF and Bailey is ranked number 2. He's earning the belt the right way. The winner was supposed to fight Berto for the belt, but he vacated, so I don't see what the problem is. :conf

Difference with Chavez was the WBC stripped Sergio because of some BS and let Chavez fight for it

Why would anyone complain about it?

Its a legit fight for a vacant title between the #1 & #2 contenders

Its also prospect vs veteran & boxer vs puncher which makes it very interesting imo

Saul please, put aside your frustrations and give credit where its due...calling Bailey one of the most overrated punchers in the history of boxing has got to be one of the most obtuse statements I've heard in ages. While training at KingsWay in manhattan Bailey made an appreace several years ago ...he was training for a fight in the conn area and he dropped two iron chinned middle weights with blistering right hands....it was amazing to watch and I wish I had filmed it just to show you.

Alright so here is my replies to you guys.

BBall champ - Who cares what he is ranked? We know he is done and was never much to begin with. Also you guys forget to mention he is a career 140 pounder. Did you forget that Jones is basically a MW?

Dr. Mo - So do you honestly think this is going to be a good fight? You dont mind that we will already have an ugly fight with PAc-Bradley but now we have to put up with another Jones-Lujan type of performance.

Caper - Please name any notable KOs Bailey has in a fight. Didnt Charlie Zelenoff have a really hard punch as well? How did his pro boxing career work out?

The double standards are horrible on this site.

 ok who should fight for the IBF then? Jones actually fought himself up through the ranks. The guy deserves a title shot. Why are you complaining?

And once he gets the belt, he'll most likely fight another rough fight not too much longer afterward

Lets face it. Since Karass he really has just taken easy fights. How does fighting and stinking out the joing against Lujan and now Bailey qualify you to get a title?

Please dude. This is nothing more than another prospect being handed a title but it is funny that really just because they are American no one is saying ****. Well i take that back I did see a couple of posts saying the same thing as me.

I think Jones will be very wary, but he isnt the complete article & although Bailey is old he is still very heavy handed & dangerous. Its an interesting fight & all the other top guys in the division are busy.

I think Jones will win on points, maybe a late TKO but he needs to be very careful in the first few rounds.

Yea I have seen that GIF every time I argue that Bailey is overrated.

It was Francisco Figeroa!! I said name one top opponent this beast Bailey stopped.

This seriously seems to be the best that Bailey has to offer. That gif is his career.
