Forgot how good this one was. Jackson landed some BOMBS early and Mike hung tough and took over :bbb [yt]3kbKe9cvEBI[/yt]
With n emphasis on "hung" (do not min kox dis taim) . 1 has 2 wonder how it would have went like if holding woz not elawd . Or conversely , 4 Hopkins' enthusiasts , had it bin held under MMA rules .
Great fight while it lasted yeah McCallum did have to hang on at times ,did you notice also that McCallum after getting stung the first time landed quite a few low blows . Quite an intelligent tactic if not a legal one , mccallum I would have to say is the best boxer I have seen live
That hook that shook McCallum in the first hit him high, and it looked like he caught part of it, too. He hit Jackson some vicious (legal) body blows, particularly that right uppercut at around 3:57 or so.
You seen the rematch between him and Kalambay yet, Addie? Whereas the first fight is a one-sided technical masterclass, the rematch is a two-way one. Both great fights to watch for different reasons.
I'd have loved to have just put Sumbu, Charles, Toney, McCallum, Moore, Burley, Williams and Marshall all in a big Super 8 tourney and just take a look at what happens :smoke
mccallums left jab, his slipping and rolling were magnificent but his body punching above and below the belt were sublime. how would he have gone on against the big four ?????
