Honeyhan not sure. Curry win. Rosi win. Blocker win.
    dont think thats enough.
Buddy - not sure. He beat alot of good boxers and he was a two divison champion. Brown win was great.
Davis win was impressive. Actually the more i think about based on his body of work he would deserve it.
Taylor maybe not. Beat Buddy. Beat Aaron Davis.
Beat some really soild fighters but his body of work isnt as extensive as Buddys.
Barkley no. Beat Hearns twice. Van Horn win nice.
Beat olajaide .Has a small body of work at middleweight beating some very good contenders-Kinchen,Williams,Tinley etc but alot of those wins were very close and debatle.

The HOF is so diluted and so many who should be there are not and many who are should not be, that it means very little to me. I have not really paid attention to it for a few years now

Well I didn't know that. I assumed he was in there. McGirt is getting in and Meldrick is not? Wasn't or isn't Meldrick's name on the ballot? If it were I would think he would get in the first year.

    Curry deserved it.

McGirt, I still don't quite see it, but given that he's stayed visible in the game as a trainer for s long time and has a good reputation, I'm sure that helped his cause. Popularity and reputation matter. On a pure boxing standpoint, I don't rate his career over Dariusz, but it is a US accolade given out by US media. Fighters who don't campaign here will always have an uphill climb.

Ironic that Taylor is not in and Gatti is

This thread opened my eyes a little on opinions on McGirt even one comparing him to Iran Barkley?

    73-6-1 was his record

He lost to Taylor and Sweet Pea and Frankie Warren and 2 more one being his last

He stoppef the same Gatti in 5 rds and beat a lot of very good fighters IMO was a top tier technician bested 6 times in 80 fights does not sound like an Iran Barkley level fighter....

I never realized he was so low in opinions and makes me question how many formed opinions off his few losses but never really watched his career

I don't think he had that many great wins. He was a so so fighter, but not great. Losing to Meldrick easily. Why isn't Meldrick Taylor in the Hall of Fame? That is disturbing.

He beat Joe Gatti, the journeyman 154 lb brother of Arturo.

Meldrick not being in surprises me.

Part of me wonders if it's because they'd rather not put him back in the public eye given his deteriorated state after his career. It's a bogus excuse IMO, but boxing has a habit of burying its past fighters under the rug and ignoring them if the post-boxing reality isn't pretty.

If that isnt the case, with McGirt getting in this year, that probably means he's on the verge of getting in, too.

Good to see Mike McCallum acting pretty normal after watching some of his videos regarding everyone ducking him. I was getting concerned for him.

some of his complaints sounded a little exaggerated. Telling Hagler he ducked him when Hagler said he respects him. And if he looked at the timeline Hagler did not duck him. Mike was a very good fighter and some say great, but he did not have the ability to get outside himself and see that Hagler or Hearns or Duran or Leonard had each other to fight. Fighting Mike made no sense.Too tough for them for too little money.
