I read that also and I wonder if Mike realizes he really never fought at middleweight when Marvin was active. That sort of takes away any argument he had that Marvin ducked him. When he fought Curry at 154 Marvin had already fought his last fight and had said he would not fight again.

I thought Quality of fighter being 7 meant he fought 7 quality fighters, I didn`t it was a mark out of 10 otherwise they would have wrote 7/10 instead, maybe they meant 7 Top contenders or some thing.

Neither McCallum or Ray gave a good performance at super middle but Ray`s body looked in better condition at 168 than McCallum`s did but that`s because Ray never had to flesh out to make that weight, he was carrying silver dollars in his pocket at the weigh in`s.

Good question I assumed it was on a scale of 1 to 10 since it seems other data uses that scale....IMO he fought the top fighters he could lure from 154-175 the quality of his competition was I thought the rating. As far as quality of comp he should rate higher than Liston considering how many title fights and champions he fought

I disagree Duran was a big name and brought money to the fight but he was not a top fighter after 147 he simply had a big name but his performances were hot and cold....his name on Mike's resume would have brought name recognition but in the pantheon of boxing his name at 154+ doesn't do much to make him a more credible champion.
