In 7 rounds really ? McCallum took 10 to get rid of a poor mans version of Hearns in Milton McCrory, after having difficulty early on. So I find it a stretch McCallum beats Hearns in 7, I also don't see what stylisitic advantage McCallum has over Hearns.

Yes 7. His work to the body, his jab, his hook, his workrate. I see him chopping Hearns down like a tree.

Hearns had a pretty good chin below 160, it didnt start cracking until he moved up to 160 pounds. That said the Bodysnatcher was a good fighter and hes been in with some pretty good fightera himself and has never been KOed. Id have to go with Hearns in a tough close fight that most likely had been a trilogy. Hearns SD.

Yeah but why 7 ? When McCallum took 10 to get rid of McCrory, who had similar style to Hearns but obviously not on same level.

If McCrory can last 10 with McCallum, it makes no logical sense Hearns gets stopped quicker.

Mccallum stops him late after being down on the scorecards

    Analysis like that doesn't work.

    I've told you why I think 7.

How long do you think it takes him to knock Hearns out?

Your right fights don't always work like that, but McCrory was from the Kronk gym and had a similar style to Hearns low left hand rangy fighter, and as I said Hearns is probably 2 levels above McCrory. So that's why logic tells me Hearns would last longer than McCrory.

As for your question I don't think Hearns stops McCallum, his chin was too good and he was too smart of a fighter. But I think Hearns outpoints him after some scary moments late in the fight.

At 154 Hearns chin wasn't as much of an issue, and McCallum is not a devastating puncher.

But I think in a 15 round fight McCallum's chances of winning this fight greatly increase.

Funny this popped up, I'd watched the fights between Mccallum v Jackson, and Mcclellan v Jackson 1 &2 yesterday.

McCallum feels like he gets underated these days, some really good wins on that record in Jackson, Curry, Watson, Graham, Kalumbay, Collins, McCrory, a draw with Toney etc

That's not how logic works tbh, every fight is different.

    Shame we'll never see it.

Before Duran fought Hearns there was possibility of McCallum vs Duran happening. That would of been interesting McCallum was a tad green at that point, and Duran might of had a bit too much savvy for him at that point.

I think Duran matches up better with Mike.

Possibly yeah I feel like Duran vs McCallum, would be a very good chess match like Toney vs McCallum.

I have seen so many duplicate H2H threads where I roll my eyes because I don't see much intrigue in the names. But this one...I don't think I'll ever not wonder about this one.
