Scenario:as Mike was about to order a rematch with Sumbu,he agreed with the terms that he had to face Nunn first, and the winner gets the rematch.

    Who wins?

Always wanted to see this one, I think Nunn slickness could give McCallum fits

Peak Nunn by decision. McCallum showed he could fight slick southpaws by outpointing Herol Graham but Graham for all his skills was not at Nunns level.

McCallum struggled twice with Sumbu Kalambay losing one clear decision and taking a deserved split-decision in the return. A fully focused Nunn was a difficult proposition for anyone. Now the Nunn that lost to Toney, McCallum might have a solid chance of winning but peak for peak a clear decision to Nunn.

Peak Nunn was a beast no doubt. At his very best, I think he outpoints Mike but I also could see Mike breaking him down to the body and taking enough late rounds to win. I would lean towards Nunn who truly had one of the best runs in middleweight history over six fights. Nunn beat Tate, Roldan, Kalambay, Barkley, Starling and Curry back to back before losing to Toney. That is an incredible stretch of different styles to face. Nunn was freaking good.

For the best Nunn fight to watch to get an idea of how skilful he was what would you guys recommend? Only fights I’ve watched are his KO against Kalambay and his loss to Toney

Anyone who is good enough to beat prime McCallum on points must be elite, the fact Nunn was tall, rangey and had great feet would negate a lot of body work I can imagine

Perfect all round performances would be: Frank Tate for the title and before that one sided kos one time big punching prospect Darnell Knox, faded contender Curtis Parker. Also vs Roldan and at super-middle his last great fight against Crawford Ashley.

Always gone with Nunn here, bad style matchup based on the style combined with size.
McCallum wouldn’t be outboxing Nunn on the outside and I doubt he’d be able to get to him and break him down, he doesn’t have the physical presence or strength etc to force Nunn to work harder than he wants and systematically break him down, or the power to end the fight in 1 punch at 160lbs, he has the style and if they were naturally the same size, I’d probably favour McCallum, but he just doesn’t have the attributes-style combination here.

Nunn by close points win. His superior hand and foot speed give him the edge.

Around the time when Nunn was still on top and motivated he was a very difficult fighter to solve and I think he would beat McCallum by UD. Michael Nunn's elusive southpaw style, along with his quickness, jab and body punching will bamboozle McCallum. Too fast and tricky for the more methodical fighter.
