McCallum at Middleweight against these guys? Marvin Hagler Tommy Hearns GGG Julian Jackson (rematch) Bernard Hopkins What do we think guys, What's the final score?
Hagler wins a clear 15 round decision. McCallum sustains facial damage. Hearns wins a close decision over 12. McCallum w pts12 GGG Mccallum stops Jackson on eye damage around 10. Hopkins old man's the old man over 12
I think he goes 2-3. Beats Jackson by stoppage again but by the middle rounds this time though and outpoints Golovkin by close decision. The rest outpoint him.
Hagler is a little too versatile and i think Hagler wins a close but convincing decision over 12. Hearns is tall and strong and i think unless Mike goes for broke, Hearns height, reach and jab should be enough for him to win a close decision. BUT in a 15 rounder, i think Mike gets to him and stops him like SRL did. GGG is terrific but a little too cautious vs high quality opponents. I think Mike wins a close decision over him. McCullum is too well rounded for Jackson. I also think Mike can decision Hopkins. I don't think Bernard quite had the offense to deal with the body snatcher though Hopkins's defense and skill will keep him competitive.
I have him beating everyone but BHOP. I know this won't be popular but I have always thought he would beat Hearns regardless of weightclass. Most will favor Hagler but I don't. I don't think Haglar can hurt him and I think McCallum has the style to win a decision.
I don't think he'd beat Hagler personally. The Hearns fight would be the toughest fight after that, and I'd certainly be holding my breath during most of the fight- but I feel like Mike could win. Stops Jackson, outpoints the other two.
It's interesting you think he gets a win over Hagler. I always thought he could have been one of his tougher fights and certainly dangerous one towards Marvs latter years.
Marvin Hagler - 50-50 fight, McCallum's workrate is better, Hagler's the more viscious puncher, both great technicians with McCallum having the better defence. Tommy Hearns - Hearn's wins the early rounds, McCallum's bodywork, jab and workrate takes over and takes Hearns out between 8-10 rounds . No doubt about this whatsoever. Hearns got broken down by Barkley twice, Leonard once (and he was coming strong in the second) and Hagler took him to pieces. McCallum systematically breaks Hearns down. I love both boxers. GGG - hard to compare these eras. Both great technicians, GGG hits way harder but McCallum defense possibly offsets this. McCallum jab is better and more rounded and his bodyattack more tactically sound. Both great workrate. It would be great fight for the fans, 50-50 Julian Jackson (rematch) - McCallum breaks him down and out smarts him again Bernard Hopkins - another 50-50 leaning to McCallum. McCallum has more to his arsenal, both are 2 of the highest working middleweight stamina beasts ever. Hopkins cheats more. Close decision either way.
