Now that Mollo flattend Binkowski in two rounds whom should he face as kind of step up? Mesi, Golota, Holyfield, Brock? Mollo could be kind of a wildcard type fighter in the heavyweight vision. He seems to have fast but powerful punches and from what little I've seen of him he's all out aggression.
I only recently took the time to watch Mollo. Heard an interview with him on Youtube, and saw a couple fight clips..........one where he fought some tomato can, then I saw his destruction of McBride. He is enteretianing to watch, but I think he seems to be amateurish in his uncontrolled aggressive winging wide shots at random. He does seem to have potential, but when he did step up, Davarryl Williamson set him back down. Unless he just had a bad night, I don't see him as being very promising to become a player in the upper tiers. But I could be wrong. He is interesting and I am going to try to catch his next fight. It was funny hearing him go on about wanting Golota, cause apparently Golota was mouthing him at the pre fight press thing. LOL.
He looks good in the eearly rounds especially against slow fighters with no chin but he was knocked out against TOS so no doubt he has some chin issues and I dont know about his stamina. If he doesnt knock Golota out early he better have a good stamina or he will get abused by Mr Golota. Same with Holyfield.
He is all out aggression against McBride and Binkowski, do you think he would be all out agression against Holyfield?
Good point. :good I think having his balls to the wall attack style against the sub par heavies is one thing, but can he do that against someone a bit more established?
mollo lost to williamson but wasnt knocked out i was at the fight mike got tired in the fourth round and didnt fight back, but he never went down and really never will, that fight was bull =**** it should have never been stopped
mollo is my cousin and he needs to beat golata like the ***** he is, i had golata call mike a ***** to my face and it pissed me off, but after he flatened binkowski..andrew wouldnt even look at me , just look at golata vs mc bride and you be the judge!
Golota would be too much for Mollo, at this point. Mollo is trying to create a feud with Golota to get a big name fight with Golota that Mollo don't yet deserve. And would regret taking, if he were to get it. In my opinion.
Like I said in another thread, Mike Mollo's fan base consists of twenty guys from Oak Lawn and his family. The pro game is abut money. Golota, at the very end of his career now, is going to want to make whatever bucks he can while he still can. He is not going to make any money fighting Mollo unless it is in the parking lot and he is mugging Mollo for his wallet. Mollo needs to get a new promoter, and work his way through the ranks, proving himself along the way while building a fan base and honing his skills. Common sense stuff.
I'm a Mollo fan and I am neither from Oak Lawn or in his family. In all honestly Golota doesn't really deserve big money fights, but a Mollo fight in Chicago would sell well, and he'd make some money. Italians and the Polish would fill any stadium in Chicago. Put it on the undercard of a title fight. I think a fight with Golota at this point would not be good for Golota. Mollo starts off early, and Golota as we know, can be intimidated in certain situations. I would favor Golota at this point, but not by as much as some are making it seem. The ref seemed to stop the Golota-McBride fight more because McBride looked like he was going to pass out, more than anything else. Mollo steamrolled McBride. I know, styles make fights, and stuff, but I'm just saying.
Of course I am exaggerating. He probably has a few fans in Elmwood Park as well I don't think Gotoa deserves a big money fights now either -- he has choked/quite too many time for it to be entertaining any more. But if you were him, you'd probably be going for one more big payday/shot at glory. Fighting Mike Mollo does not get him closer to that big payday/shot-at-glory. I was at that last fight of Mollo's in Chicago when he was fighting Binkowski. There were not that many people there. The Polish community is Chicago has had enough of Golota -- he does not have the fan base there he once enjoyed. By the way....did you used to be from Oak Lawn?
Don't judge by the attendance at the Sears Centre. Too far from Chicago. There hasn't been one successful boxing card there yet. Golota vs Mollo would do fine, especially if below a David Diaz main event.
fights at the united center would fare well, better to city dwellers, larger community, sears center was to far
