He gets vastly under-rated, and some of the fights He took on, on the way up through the Heavyweight ranks such as His 4th fight at heavyweight against #5 ranked Heavyweight 27-2 (27 KOs) Alex Stewart. He had some exciting fights, the only two guys I rate as more exciting than Him at HW during late 1980's through to the mid 1990's, is Evander Holyfield and Bert Cooper.

Right handed south paw with a mean right jab/hook nice left hand, slightly chinny maybe it was because He was a LHW, the higher His weight got the less His KO power was there, I wish He had stayed at around 207-215, 2 time IBF champ one time WBA champ, never had to many "big fights" and will always be rememberd as the guy who got knocked out by George Foreman.

did anyone watch Him comming up through the ranks and what are peoples thoughts on Him.

Some on here think he would beat Spinks, Foster, Moore, Loughran and Fitzy in the same night. Moorer has always got more than his fair share of space in this forum.

Havent seen it tbh, outside of Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe hes next best guy, and he was a LHW! Tyrone Booze fan eh? I liked His fight with Bert Cooper.

just so you know, he hates being called mike. someone called him that in a freddie roach gym pass documentary and their he is almost grabbing them by the collar.

anyways teddy atlas did nothing for him. got him barely motivated. he knew what he needed to do. dramatics dont help. end of.

one of the best heavyweights of the 90's and a lennox fight would of been REALLY interesting against a southpaw.

The Lennox Lewis fight nearly happend twice, this is the fight i most wanted to see, and give Atlas some credit he wouldnt of beaten Holyfield if it wasnt for Him.

he was best at heavy when he was light. Like 212 and he could outmanouver the bigger heavies. As soon as he put on a little bit of extra weight, it subtracted directly from his legs and mobility. He became as flat footed as the other heavies and he really needs that advantage when facing elite heavies.

He would have had a tough time with some tougher matchmaking. Subtract guys like Botha and White and Shulz and insert guys like Sanders/Morrison/Tyson/Ibeabuchi and so on. I think he goes out just like he did against the Tuaman. That is a much much tougher road to take. Once he put on that added weight, he was on par with the Botha types that would or could win a fight and lose a fight against contemporaries, but not lick the big boys or elite.

I had him losing the first to holyfield.

I'd probably rate him below ike, tua and byrd tbh.

Moorer was a good fighter with very good boxing skills but he didnt really have the chin to be long lasting top heavyweight even though his boxing skills were better than most heavyweights.

He fought very flat footed and liked to stay in the pocket which was very dangerous for a heavyweight with a suspect chin.

I dont think he was underated I think he did pretty well for himself and is ranked properly because of it. I think he was better in the first Holyfield fight than the second but I felt he lost both fights.

First and only? Southpaw heavyweight champ. I felt he didn't
have it anymore when he lost to Tua. I agree michael would
get scalped against sanders,Tyson,Lewis. He had great skill,
Ill check ou the Cooper fight for sho. Good power for a former
light heavy. Honestly I could have sworn he was a cruiserweight as
well, I guess not. As for Teddy, he is a piece of work, I like his
theatrics, and I think he really knows his stuff. He got iced against
Foreman though, guess there was no talk of a rematch against Foreman.

He barely beat Evander even with his achey breaky heart. Sure he's underrated but saying he was the next best heavyweight below Lennox, Evander and Bowe is a slight over rating him and I guess there's always an argument that he was a knockout waiting to happen

Tua's dominations over mm and ruiz are better than any victory of mm's imo.

    Byrd is clearly superior.

Ike's victories over tua and byrd are better than anything mm did.

Awesome LH, very good skilled HW who for the most part lacked self belief.
Lewis, Bowe and Tyson would've destroyed him as Holyfield did in the rematch. He was one of the top four names for a while and deserves respect.

I'd of liked to see him in with other strong HW's in the early 90's like Ruddock, Mercer, Bruno, Morrison even early 90's Tucker. If so i suspect his star wouldn't have shone so brightly.

Not saying he would've won if it happened earlier but he was a spent force when Tua got to him.

Tua beat 3 world champ past or future... including a demolition of Moorer, a result I see happening regardless of when they met.
