At least he'll get the rounds in anyway. Page took him the distance before in a boring fight so a repeat is on the cards seein as perez has been inactive for 6 months. Get this one and maybe another early in new year and hopefully he can kick off from there because he needs more fights to build his profile. Pity he couldn't capitalise on his prizefighter success more
about time Perez got a fight .... who is in charge of his career? Whoever it is, is doing a poor job. PS: Mike Perez is my favourite young heavyweight right now ..... looking forward to see how his career evolves. Barlivia - How come he turned pro in Ireland?
Because Irish Businessman and boxing manager Gary Hyde made a deal with him to get him out of Cuba and turn pro along with Luis Garcia and Alexei Collado . Hyde then signed Rigo and was getting pissed off with the other 3 Cubans becasue they were lazy and enjoyed the Irish nightlife too much so he cut them loose . They are now signed to another Irish businessman called Hamish Thomas I belive and are all settled down with Irish girls in Cork now I think.
Thanks for that moorser. Interesting stuff ..... i will look up Garcia and Collado on boxrec. I think Perez would take Chisora, Fury and Price.
Perezs' gf had a baby this year so hopefully that'll sort him out and keep him focused. I think they were trying to get rid of Hyde for a while not the other way around so that's why they were inactive for long parts of 09 and 10. Can't say their new manager is doin much of a job with them though. Perez inactive after pf win for 6 months. Luis garcia out once this year and collado boxing small hall shows in uk. Need exposure because comin from Cuba they've got little or no fanbase in Ireland or uk so they won't sell tickets but what they def do have is bags full of potential so hopefully 2011 will be a better year for them
I know they were training in newcastle, and i beleive the trainer got sick of them, said they were very lazy, no desire, so maybe theres little truth in them wanting rid of Hyde, the shoe was more likely on the other foot.
