Ahhh - I thought maybe that was it. Or you meant "Travis Walker" instead of "Joseph Parker" (as they sound roughly as similar as "Sherman Williams" and "Darnell Wilson" - and both do have big power, and Wilson did go a full eight with Freight Train so it all kind of fit your comment either way)

I guess it just never occurred to me to mix them up because they are from such different realms to me. Tank was a nothing journeyman until he almost kayoed the shot Evander Holyfield near the end of his career (Holy was bailed out by a cut from a butt leading to a NC) and his "upset" of Chauncy Welliver the following year, which briefly made him seem like a super-journeyman, like a heavyweight Darnell Boone or something. He also went on to give Helenius some problems. But really he was already pushing 40 and irrelevant when he came near putting Holyfield's name on his resume (even had it happened, more of a story for his grandkids than something to brag about, kind of like Danny Williams' victory over Tyson) and has since receded back into obscurity for the most part.

Ding, on the other hand, was a fixture on American TV and top contender at cruiser for a time. Even though he is younger than Williams, his career "peak" came several years earlier, when he made that career turnaround in 2006/7 scoring a bunch of knockouts to rebound from a bad losing streak. Then he fizzled and was already heavyweight cannon fodder by the Holyfield vs. Williams debacle.

Perez should have little problem with Wilson, the big question will be does he win by ko or not.

Being that its only 8 rounds and Perez isn't a huge puncher this might go the distance but I think Perez does get a stoppage here.

I really hope if Perez gets past Wilson, and maybe another quick fight at this level, he does end up in the rumored Povetkin fight. That could be a fantastic fight.

You don't want to see Povetkin vs. Perez, then?

Surely everyone would view Sasha as the favorite, so Perez getting through his tuneup here with Ding would only temporarily delay the end of him being hyped as top HW material, if that's your aim. In fact, I'd see him taking a lot more punishment against Povetkin. If he loses to Ding it would probably be a quick & relatively painless one-punch spark-out, as opposed to a prolonged beating.

The fallout would be far greater and impactful if he lost to Ding A Ling, and much more embarrassing. Sure the prolonged beating by Sasha will be fun, but if he loses it'll be expected and give his fans hope that he can comeback, because they'd say "after all he did lose to the second HW after Wlad".

As much as I'd like to see Ding A Ling take this, Perez will get him out of there late, but it won't be one punch Ding A Ling will take many blows to the head before going down.

I don't think it's televised anywhere, though I'm not 100% sure on that.
I hope ding wins as it may be his last chance at fighting a top ranked contender, but I see Perez stopping him late on.

I don't know, big ask even if Perez is unmotivated and less than 100%. The last time he sprang an upset was the MD over JC Gomez, and honestly I scored that to Gomez.

Ding hit a stride back in 2006-2007 and during that short time, with better management, he could've punched his way into the records books and become a world titlist. Since then, he is more journeyman/gatekeeper than contender...and especially since the move up from Cruiser.

Gimme for Perez to shake rust before the Povetkin showdown. Probably a very cautious shutout.

Nope. You're either @ The Hangar to watch in person or you don't get to see it.

    No broadcast.
