Have watched a couple of bouts regarding Perez, and I've been impressed with him. His opposition isn't great, but I think he could do big things under the right supervision along with a quality trainer. I believe Perez has the talent to become something of note, but I see his talent going to waste unless something changes. He needs to be more active, from what I gather he has nothing lined up for him. What are your thoughts on Perez?
I think the guy is an absolute phenomenon, his speed, punching power, style, and ferocity all have the possibility to make him an incredibly popular world champion. However like you said he is getting killed by inactivity. Once he starts fighting quality opposition regularly he will be a world beater.
Well this is the thing. People keep saying 'where is the next great HW' but without a decent trainer Perez probably wont get to far. He has all the tools and ability in the world to do big things, however, looking at current trends it looks as though his talent is going into the bin. Perez has a likable style, and has killer instinct about him. I'd hate to see another talent go to waste. He needs guidance and a proper trainer. He has everything going for him, just needs direction.
it pains me to say it but i don't think Ireland is the place to be if he wants to become a force to be reckoned with in the HW division
Apparently he's fighting Audley next, according to Audley, don't know how reliable a source that is :yep [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nge18feeedk[/ame] (skip to 4.40)
Mikey has a problem in that none of the guys worth fighting are going to want to risk facing him with nothing on the line. Now, if he could be made eligible for the European title, then he could win a couple more fights, get into mandatory position, and build onwards from there. Without that sort of stepping stone it will be hard to break through. Otherwise, I guess his best shot is to chase a faded name like Aud, and try build a demand for the big fights. I do feel PrizeFighter definitely helped. I remember being stunned by how many of my friends on facebook were talking about him afterward, and not just Boxing fans either.
