Two light heavyweight "Stingers" with excellent boxing ability if not the howitzers perhaps needed to compete with the very best of their of Light Heavyweight Era's and thats not a disgrace when you consider a 22 years young Quarry found himself disgracefully served up to an all time great dispatcher of opponents in Bob Foster, The KO at the hands of Foster ( and the "Aftercare" of Mikes Cornerman !! ) really does make one wince. Mike boxed well for three rounds before the roof caved in he was never the same again becoming a travelling trial horse losing to such as Finnegan Fourie, Lopez, and Rossman the youthful sheen long dulled Not for Hutchins the slow painful fade out, Losses to Galindez and Conteh, and perhaps the thunderous performances of some of his rivals and a quick blowout loss to Willie Edwards seemed to point Len to the conclusion that there would be no championship belt in his future ...he wisely didnt Linger Like Quarry, So two likeable contenders, good Boxers who could both Sting... Mike Quarry or Len Stinger Hutchins ?
I guess all I can say is it would be an interesting matchup prime on prime. Didn't really know about Len until he went to Luna Park to face Galindez for the WBA title in 74. Sidebar: a young Marvin Johnson (I'm from Indy and saw his first 8-10 pro fights live at the Armory here in Indy) fought a three round exhibition bout with Hutchins in 74 and Len boxed his ears off at the time. Mike was skillful as well; may have been a chessmatch (at least before both of them were getting throttled)
