No doubt a girlfiend. Listen my friend, thanks to a chick I have seen a very prominent middleweight damn near starkers in a girlie magazine...made me re-evaluate me life...such is life I suppose.

Ah, the WBA and its shenanigans. The bribes being paid by the Argentinians to the WBA over the years must have kept some fat cats rich. Juan Roldan ring a bell?

That could be the theme song for my adolescence.

They played a big role in my youth too, though thankfully serving different purposes.

There was a time when Playboy actually had some good interviews.

Jim Garrison broke some of his JFK theories in print there.

The "J$wish Bomber" Rossman interview was interesting because it had some good post-fight descriptions of the Mike Quarry/Mike Rossman fight. Rossman visited MQuarry's dressing room and Quarry was lying on the table resting.

Quarry's eye was all swollen up, so a trainer lanced it to relieve the pressure... the blood shot 3 feet in the air.

Rossman said he just smiled at seeing the results of his own good work in the fight.

I know. They had an article on Spinks in one of the 80s issues back in the day but I was more interested in the other content :)

I think if you hurt Rossman, you could discourage him. He wasn't a fighting tiger who would come back hard if you zinged him. Against a guy with no punch, he would have the best chance. But once he was hurt by Galindez in the 2nd fight, Yaqui Lopez, Ranquello and others, he was pretty much done. I remember how when Lopez staggered him, he kept looking at the clock. I don't think he wanted to be there anymore.

Since Lalonde was a banger, limited though he was in other ways, I think at some point he catches him with that big right hand and then it would be all over. Lalonde couldn't finish Leonard because I think he was weight drained and just didn't have the strength. A prime Lalonde at peak weight should beat Rossman.

Lalande took the cash and came in at 168 lbs so SRL could win the SMW & LtHvy titles, instead of just saying I am defending my title at the 175 lb LtHvy limit.

Wouldn't you just like to see Bob Foster bouncing SRL off the canvas multiple times for suggesting that the champ should bow down to the pompous challenger and give up weight?
