People forget that putting butts in seats and selling PPV's are a promoter's jobs. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a fighter, even if he is not world class. IMO, the worst possible outcome is that Lee attracts a few new fans and reinvigorates some old ones while funnelling money to boxing.
Lee is a decent fighter, but will never be great. His ceiling is John Duddy. Does he belong on PPV? Probably not at this point, no. Will he liven up a PPV undercard regarding entertainment value? Yes.
whats this subway thing everybody is talking about. Did he just do one commercial or is he endorsed by them?
He's done shitloads, at least a dozen commercials. He is one of their main athletic spokespeople, along with Blake Griffin and other top sports figures (which is weird, because Lee has neither accomplished anything in his respective sport nor attained a large national following compared to all the rest)
Is that Duddy before or after Campas? Before Campas, he seemed to have a bit higher ceiling. Seriously, a guy like Lee should be fighting in a regular location where he'd be a popular local attraction like was done with Joe Mesi or even Troy Rowland (he was selling out fights at around 5,000 folks for awhile).
That did it for me...I saw the guy live at MSG Cotto-Margarito II and I hope to never see him fight again. Based on the undercard, I was leaning towards going to the Canelo-Lopez fight anyway, but now it's a no brainer.
