well....tyson didnt throw that much on the inside..usually he clinched and just waited for the ref to break it....

Honestly i know how strong tyson is supposed to be.but i dont really know if he would bully dempsey around on the inside

i think Tyson needs to catch dempsey coming in...uppercuts would be his best weapon..as would his jab, oddly enough... i think dempsey would stand a fair chance of ducking and weaving in on Tysons hooks though.

and one could have made the same argument about how tyson should win on the inside with holyfield....

If you put the picture of the plaster cast next to the picture of Tyson you will see not only is Dempsey's wrist larger than Tyson's it's larger than Tyson himself!

But in all seriousness 9" is huge, that's the size of Carnera's and Dempsey having a 11 1/4" Fist and a 9" Wrist would be anatomically ******ed.

PS: When they measure bicep (at least from what I've seen) it's usually done with them doing a bicep pose and tensing.

i dont think it was for boxers though..... hell very few guys have arms over 16 inches..you have to agree with they were flexing than both tyson and dempsey should be over 16...

for that matter guys like patterson only had 15 i think....

Maybe they do measure it flexed now adays...what with all the bodybuilding bull**** having influenced stuff...but i am pretty sure back in the day they did it non flexed...just look at these measurements....patterson and Ali were not huge guys..but i think you would agree that if they flexed they would have bigger arms than this.

and like i said..flexed, both tyson and dempsey would be bigger than 16.

This fight would not be decided by a measuring tape...

From everything I have heard and from a pure logical stance Ali was an enourmous human being so him having 9" wrists isn't a stretch. People who have met him said he was huge and had enourmous hands. Ali weighed in the 215-230lbs range and he did so by nothing more than running, sparring, skipping ,hitting the bag and some ab exercises. One does not weigh 215 while in fighting trim, without aid from special protein shakes, supplements, weights etc. unless they were giant human being.

Ali was about 215lbs, 81" reach, 6'3" tall with 13" fists

    Dempsey was about 185lbs , 76" reach, 6'1" tall with 11 1/4 fists

One was a full blown Heavyweight the other an average sized Cruiser. Ya dig?

That is absurd. Look at Ali's wrist and look at his ankle - they are not almost the same, **** outta here. At least one of those measurements has to be wrong. Again, a 9 inch wrist is huge. I am sure that Ali did not have such large wrists. If you look at other tales of the tape for Ali, they say his wrists are 8 inches or less.

No tale of the tape has Dempsey's wrist at 9" because they aint 9". That's all I guess although don't know how I got into this discussion :huh.

Anyway I made my pick Tyson by early KO :bbb
