86-88 Mike was untouchable...quite probably right into 89 as well.

This won't go over well, but I don't think the guy who fought Douglas would have got past even that year's Foreman or Holy imo.

 

I made a good chunk of change betting on Waldo for the better part of a decade... and I would have made plenty more in this fight.

would put some money on Wladimir Klitschko.

 

Wlad has the skill and physical advantages to pull it off, but his chin won’t hold up imo. Tyson stops him

 

The question in the thread, genius, is 2009 Klitschko and not 2003 Klitschko. So then why are you pretending that refering to the Sanders fight is relevant? Yeah, you just threw yourself under a truck.

 

I think the 91’ Tyson that beat Ruddock would have beaten 91 Foreman and 91 Holyfield as well as any rematch with Douglas. Not as good as 88 Tyson but still was incredibly focused and determined after loss against Douglas and was as tough as hell.

 

One guy owned the division for about 30 months, the other guy for about 10 years. There's a reason for this.

 

There is probably more than one reason for that, but none of them include Wlad being better than Tyson, head-to-head.

Because Klitschko had a better work ethic and had better long term commitment to the sport than Tyson.

Klitschko wasn't banged up in prison for 4 years , drank or took drugs consistently.

Klitschko also fought in a very weak era and used his size advantage to illegally avoid engaging with the C and D level opposition that was put in front of him.
During these 10 years he never had to contend with anybody remotely as good as Tyson. . Hell he never even faced somebody with Tyson speed or head movement.
How did he fare against Haye who shimmied from left to right ?? He couldn't hit him with the clean shot. Lucky for WK Haye was very ineffective on the front foot , Tyson wasn't

You can ignore this but you wouldn't ignore it if 50K was on the line..And we both know who'd you'd be picking then.

We all know that Wlad struggled against pressure in the first half of his career, but he may have solved this later on judging by the rematches against Peters and Brewster as well by he nullified Povetkin. He had some very friendly refereeing to fall back on, though, so that might make a difference.

 

So in your mind Lou ****ing Savarese is better than Wlad?
