Yes, Tyson's prime was contingent on when he was facing a better fighter who knew how to make him ineffective (try as he may) and beat him.

Had Douglas not come along and beat him, Tyson's prime would have continued on til Holy beat him the first time. Then it would have conviently ended.

Lewis and Holyfield BOTH beat a young, in shape, well trained and well prepared Tyson.

Period.


Don't give me that bull**** of he no longer did what he did in the early days. The better fighters were the REASON why he wasn't able to pull that kinda thing on them.

Fans can sit outside a boxing ring, or watching TV and say a fighter is no longer doing what he used to, or he's no longer got what he once had. Many times, the OPPONENT he is facing is the REASON he now looks less than spectacular.

Its easy to bore your way in and KO someone like Henry Tillman. But the same attempt and same skilled effort from Tyson would get different results when tried on Holyfield or Lewis. And that is due to what Holyfield and Lewis are able to do to combat Tyson's once effective bull charges, and bobbing and weaving. It works on the lowerlevel fighters...........not so much on the world class fighters like the ones that beat PRIME Tyson.

The fact is, Tyson signed with King, lost a trainer that helped make him great, and his career went down hill from there.

LOL atsch, I say Tyson has a strong chance for a KO in the first 5 rounds after that Lewis would take over so really what im saying is Tyson inside 5 if he fails that Lewis by points perhaps late TKO.

95 lewis was a bit gunshy and over cautious after the McCall loss so id say Tyson but if it was V The lewis of 99-2001 trhen Lewis

 

The Tyson of that era would KO Lewis. Lewis was beaten by McCall and Rahman in his prime.
Tyson was either KOing guys or beating the **** out of them. Ask Mitch Green. Green wasnt knocked out but he lost every round. Lewis had a less than average chin.
