During the Pre-fight Coverage for the Tyson-Thomas fight in 1987, They show a clip of Tyson helping the YAI Organization, a organization helping mentally ******ed young adults. This shows a different side of Mike Tyson. Anyone who thing Tyson is this callous monster should definetely watch this. Tyson had a good heart.:good [YT]ppvkAcj5_Rg[/YT]
He was always very troubled and crazy. He seems like a very complicated person, as I often expect the elite boxers to be.
Tyson was and still is a child. He was once a child with a good father in Cus D'Amato. When D'Amato died, he was raised by wolves (Don King and company).
Tyson now is a product of what he has gone through in his life, underneath it all he's actually a top guy i think.
I agree, the most important thing in Tyson's life was having a dominant father figure who would keep him busy and out of trouble.
I have footage of Tyson helping the people at the YAI organisation. Very good to see, & then icest thing about it all, was that it didn't seem an effort for Mike. He appeared to genuinely care & want to be around the people, helping them etc. If only the general public or your average joe were to see such footage, I think they would have to alter their opinion of Mike. When it comes to disavanted people, particularly the young, Tyson always seemed to care & want to help.
I think Tyson is a cool and friendly guy. He´s just a bit temperamental, and when someone provocates him, he gets a bit too fast angry, but that´s with a lot of people so... IMO deep inside he has a good heart.
I think most people have a good side in one form or another. The key however, is balancing the good with the bad, then drawing a conclusion as to which outweighs the other. Although Tyson may have shown that he can display decency at times, his darkside ruled over the good. He was known as a thug during his adolescence, and later became an abusive husband and hardened criminal. We also can't easily dicern if his charity efforts were a genuine token of his good will, or an attempt to save public face.
tyson just feel into the wrong place at the wrong time.......when cud died he became a became a real rich man and fell into don who messed with him.......and now he evolved into what he is today
I don't necessarily think that Tyson was a great human being even before his encounter with King and co. As a teenager, he was a known thug who beat the livin' crap out of other neighborhood kids and was known for stealing wallets and purses. Granted, he was brought up in a very bad environment, which I won't hold against him, but my point is that I don't think King was responsible for his becoming a criminal.
Tyson is a bit like Homer Simpson, instead of donuts its women and drugs or stupidity although Tyson is a very intelligent man, you only have to hear him talk to realise this, he has little self control or morals, really there are a lot of people out there using and abusing drugs its just we don't think someone in Tyson's position should which is why attention is drawn to it.
