Prison took some of that away form him, what would have happened in 91 against Holyfield? well never know.

But Louis didnt have guys like Holyfield, Lewis and Bowe around in his era, if he did, his reign may not have been so long.

That's exactly what would happen with Tyson. He'd win with some brutal ko's early on and then get less and less prepared for his fights and lose against somebody when he was ill-prepared going in. It is a major weakness in his game and he is not stringing together 20 odd title defenses because of it.

The other trouble with that long list is factoring in the Tyson deterioration factor through time. All his results were against old guys when he was fresh and young. When a guy defends the title for that long, that is no longer the case and the champ makes adjustments and continues to win.

I also like the possibilities of the great trainer back then that opposed Blackburn and Louis so often, Ray Arcel, to probe big holes in Tyson's style and have one of his guys exploit it for the win.

It didn't take a Holyfield, Lewis, or Bowe to end Tyson's reign.

Besides, Louis would eat Bowe and pre-Steward Lewis up. And if Evander tries to go to war with Louis like he did Bowe...forget his chances of making it out of Round 10, if he gets rocked like that against Joe Louis he's done.

Funnily enough, there was an interview out there, Holy stated he would have knocked Louis out.

Do you pick Louis against The 'Tokyo' douglas?

I dont see tyson losing to Schmeling

-Holyfield also said he will be the undisputed Champion again, that he never took hormones, God will knock out Lennox Lewis in the 3rd Round..etc.

    -Tokyo Douglas KO1 Ali.....

-To be fair Louis took on the HOFer Former World Champion Max Schmeling in just the second year of his career. Consider the still developing Tyson who went 6-4 against the vet gate keeper Tillis at a similar stage in his career. An early upset to Schemling is a realistic possiblity.

Correct. I was not then or now, impreesed w/ Spinks at heavy w/ futch. And Eddie was not there for Holmes either, so that resume is rather thin at best. He was made to order for Tyson.

I think much less of Dundee and the 87 version of Pinklon Thomas. And did Giachetti even bother to train Holmes for the Tyson fight? no matter a 37 year old Holmes is not winning that fight either. Reverse the ages and have Ritchie with a young Holmes & I think he takes a 37 year old Tyson though.

    Tyson would crush those guys.

They wouldn't even be heavyweights in this era. Except Carnera of course.

Janitor offers an interesting point...Tyson was not almost the most professional of champions.

If he came in less than sharp and unfocused against Charles, Walcott, or Schmeling, he'd get a similar boxing lesson to the one Douglas gave him, I can tell you that much.

A Mike who was focused and sharp, though, I have to pick over those three and all the rest. I don't think Schmeling has the two-fisted power to keep Tyson off, Walcott could be caught and finished by top shelf power, and Charles is in a similar boat to Schmeling; I can guarantee he'd have a great showing and take rounds of Mike, but I think keeping him away and potshotting and/or successfully banging it out when Tyson established ranged for 15 is too tall an order for any small heavyweight ever. MAYBE Joe Louis could do the latter, but given his own fragility, he'd do it with one shot or combination, not over several rounds.
