Your mum presumably didn’t have a 30yr career of getting punched repeatedly in the head.

He still took some serious amount of concussive blows though so I reckon he actually just has some of the greatest neuroregenerative capabilities ever seen. It's extremely rare where neurons are able to heal themselves that well.

Tyson and foreman had massive skulls with extra cerebrospinal fluid so their brains had extra cushioning. Some people have genetic superiority for hand to hand combat from the ancient humans so they wouldnt die from a brain bleed or be mentally crippled in old age. Its usually the guys with wide faces and big round or blocky skulls that can take damage and not show any problems later in life. Tex cobb and vitali are good examples too.

Problem with tyson is that he did a lot of cocaine and took much more punishment than foreman ever did in his career, tyson was abused by douglas, holyfield, ruddock and lewis. Good thing with mike is that hes been smoking weed for decades now and its healing his brain, he sounds more coherent while high so his brain might actually need weed to function well.

I think we might see Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul sooner or later.

It's actually almost all about which APOE allele you have, I recommend looking into it if you want to understand the genetic factors behind people's likelihood for dementia of any sort, be it from age or brain trauma.

I did not see that hunger in Roy Jones exhibition. Biting the glove thing did give me bad memories from McBride fight thought.

How sad is it that that is probably the biggest money fight in boxing right now.

is there any testing you can do to see which ones you have? I did 23andme and am negative for the e4 apoe variant, is that the one you are talking about?

It is indeed. The APOE E4 variant is the one you really don't want to have, if you have two alleles of it, you're 26 times more likely to have long term effects from brain trauma and way more likely to have Alzheimer's too. The fact you tested negative is a great thing for you. If you have the E2 variant you're in luck, as it's the best for neuroprotection, two alleles and you're truly blessed. E3 is considered the middle ground one to have and is the baseline for measuring average neuroprotective factor.

thanks a lot for the information, pretty interesting. Its all about adaptability through genetics.

i looked at my raw data from 23andme and in the rs429358 i have t/t and the rs7412 i have c/t. Looked at charts on sites and it says i have e2/e3.
