Nah the sport has disrespected & soiled itself time & time again… As grown men who consider themselves boxing faithful it is up to us to decipher the scams & cons especially in boxing. No one old enough to see Tyson fight live or with half a brain took this as a serious fight with a 58 year old Tyson vs Fake Jaul. for Tyson to miss out on $20 million Over some bs code to uphold the “ integrity of the sport” - that’s laughable.
To each his own. However, we are talking about a former heavyweight champ fighting against a complete novice. Losing to a Youtuber is laughable and beyond embarrassing. That's like Mayweather Jr. signing to fight Charlie Zelenoff and losing.
Jake Paul is a pro & a YouTuber & so is Mike Tyson. Eh it was a pro sanctioned fight. mayweather could very well have lost to Logan Paul … if he was 58. either way it shouldn’t upset you to see an old man secure generational wealth for his family. Just don’t contribute to his fund that’s all.
How is being a full time boxer with some of the best boxing and s&c coaches going that has been training for over four years full time a complete novice. Your a complete novice and someone like Jake Paul would wipe the floor with you.
Jake Paul is a pro on paper, and that is about as close as he'll ever get to being a pro boxer. In the meantime, he can continue to pad his "pro" record with these sideshows. I'm not hating on Tyson for winning millions for doing nothing other than for working out a few months and getting into the ring. My initial argument was that he was tarnishing his legacy for losing to a Youtuber. Whether he did it for money or not, it doesn't matter. I already had Netflix prior to this circus show. I only tuned in for the Ramos vs Barrios fight. I didn't bother watching Tyson vs Paul. It's still on Netflix if I am not mistaken, but I'm not going to watch it because I have zero interest in it.
Teddy Atlas said it best. Tyson is 0-5 and fights that provided resistance. That's why he's great, but not an ATG.
