I hear this all the time, hell I've repeated it, but as I've learned more about it, it seems like it's really not an accurate picture. Vincent Fuller did successfully defend Don King on tax charges, but that's not all he did. He defended John Hinckley and got him off on an insanity verdict when he tried to kill Reagan. That was obviously a huge case and a huge victory for the defense. No doubt they bungled the Tyson defense, and I don't care to rehash the debate on whether or not he was guilty, but I'm just curious about this "tax lawyer" thing. How did this thing about Vincent Fuller supposedly being just a "tax lawyer" grow big? Charley Rosen's reporting on Sports Illustrated? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/28/AR2006072801655.html
It actually never crossed my mind. SRL did apparently have a reddit "ask all" thing and I posted about the $500k offer to Pryor and asked him how deep negotiations ever were, but no response. He was probably banging Johnny Gill or something
I think that Tyson's legal defense was very poor. Whatever the reality of the allegations, a good defense team would have secured an acquittal!
Actually there's a documentary on youtube about this and why Tysons whole case was bungled. Its also mentioned in the autobiography.
Maybe Don King would have rather have seen his love child behind bars than see him get destroyed by the new forces in the division like Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis. I've said it all along prison was godsend for Tyson's career..
Has anyone actually taken the time to read the transcript? that's about the only way one can determine if it was bungled or not.
Tyson r@ped Washington and attempted to r@pe his Limo Chauffeur using the same tactics. The Limo Chauffeur's evidence wasn't allowed to be heard in court but supposedly the judge was 'Against Mike' according to his spin doctors. Mike's innocence is one of the biggest spin jobs in boxing history. Edit R@pe is banned word from ESB? This site has gone to the dogs
