Definitely not crazy, although it drives me crazy to think that I have watched every minute of Tyson's fights apart from those three rounds of the Larry Sims fight. I'm not sure if it wasn't recorded at all, or if it has been lost/destroyed in one way or another. I'm hoping that one day a tape/recording of this fight is found in a house, garage etc, and we all can finally watch it.
I was looking everywhere for it. I read somewhere that the film crew got drunk and no-showed the job, and while it sounds utterly ridiculous that an entire film crew would get drunk and no-show a job, I'm thinking it may have been a fairly small crew for local TV. So it's not entirely unbelievable for me! I'm just happy that the rest of Tyson's fights are all available and that, for the most part, you can find them all in decent quality/resolution. I'm not sure if that's true of most fighters (although I'm not sure it isn't true, either).
It could very well be true. If it is true, the fans that saw the bout live that night, are some very lucky boxing fans. There goes my hope of a recording being found lol. You're right, though, to only be missing 1 fight/3 rounds of video of a 58 fight career, isn't bad going.
Great watch! Thats cheered up my boring day at work! He really was an unstoppable beast in the 80s / Early 90s!!
I've seen every fight recorded, but what impressed me was the commentary- the fact that under Rooney, Tyson constantly and effortlessly switched southpaw to orthodox. Once Con King got him and whittled his family away, he was surrounded by 'yes' men and almost never turned southpaw again. Gr8 commentary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this video is old, but I feel it was a good time to bump it after a surprisingly fun exhibition between two living legends. Props to Mike and Roy for the better than expected exhibition.
