It's self evident that Wlad would have been great in any era. If he couldn't, then that sort of undermines the entire premise of boxing, since he was all about technique and footwork and fighting to a system.

I think his losses are just examples that all heavyweights are dangerous, a lot of the fighters you mentioned have been seriously hurt and almost taken out by lesser fighters, just something that happens at heavyweight, so using that logic you could have mentioned a thousand other fighters to beat Wlad

Or maybe the best heavyweight fighters are overrated by their fans.

I would say it’s just that no one’s unbeatable

Wlad went 11 years unbeaten - second longest to Joe Louis and he made 18 consecutive title defenses 3rd most consecutive to Only Louis and Holmes. Unlike Holmes he faced everyone and did not drop belts.
Anyway you slice it - he is a monster historically and H2h in the divisions history. Lewis and Tyson made 9 defenses each - Wlad matched that combined. It is simply impressive. And he usually fought prime, peak fighters. anyone that doesn’t think he would be the best heavy or in the top 3 of any era in history is deluding themselves. Guy is a top 10 ATG
