But he wins. He doesn't disappear under his alts and delete posts when he loses. Wait, Floyd doesn't lose lol.
I think you are being a bit naive. Floyd is gonna fight the same way he has for the past 20 years. The style which brought him to this point. Obviously coming out busy and firing would be a bad idea.
Honestly, Bradley's face looked just as bad after the 2nd fight as it did after fighting Provodnikov. Guess Provo lost his power too?
I've always been a fan of Tyson, I'm a New Yorker as well so I've always had a bias disposition with Iron Mike. But he really doesn't know what he's talking about at all in this matchup. Here's a look at the compubox statistics of Pacman in his last 4 fights: Algieri- 229 out of 669 (34%) = 55.75 punches per round Bradley II- 198 out of 563 (35%)= 46.9 punches per round Marquez 4- 94 out of 256 (37%) = 42.6 punches per round Rios- 281 out of 790 (36%) = 65.833 punches So aside from nailing a completely stationary punching bag target in Brandon Rios with around 65 punches per round, Manny is closer to throwing around an average of 50 punches per round. So to be under the assumption that pacman will be throwing somewhere in the 1000 punch range against anyone is ridiculous, especially against a master boxer who excels at counterpunching and defense. He'll be lucky to throw 40 punches per round. If he tries a blitzkrieg attack on Mayweather by continually lunging in and out, he's probably going to get knocked out.
Floyd's doesn't really just do one thing. He does whatever works. If pot shots work, that's what he'll do. If the jab is working, he'll do that. If the clinch is needed, you'll see that. Coming forward and cutting off the ring, will be used when needed. Boxing on the back foot comes out of the trick bag at times. He can brawl as well. And the list goes on. The guy can literally do anything in there. So, you can't really just put Floyd's style into a single exclusive category. He really does what his opponent allows him to do. And he takes away what his opponent is having success with. I expect no different in this fight. But, I also expect it to bring the best out of him.
I agree 100%. Floyd is a parasite in the ring, he's very opportunistic and is just waiting to see his opposition make a mistake so he can capitalize on it. But Manny is a different breed than most of Floyd's opposition in recent memory. What I mean is most fighters by the mid rounds recognize they're getting embarrassed in the ring with Floyd, and are just perfectly OK with the fight getting to the scorecards. I'm sure Manny is going to go for broke and would rather be put out on his backside than let the fight get to 12 rounds. He'll bring the fight to Floyd unless he's aged exponentially since his last fight.
Pacquiao increases his work rate as the fight goes on, so some of those statistics are misleading. For example, against Algieri he threw around 51 punches rounds 1-6 and 60 punches round 7-12. (an average). Mayweather averaged throwing 30 punches 1-6, and also increases his workrate averaging 40 a round 7-12. Against the best fighter in the world, I'm sure Pacquiao could maintain much more of that. He'll throw what he has to throw to win. He didn't have to throw 100 punches against any of those opponent's to win. He knows he'll have to against Floyd, and he will do what he has to do to win. Same with Floyd. If Floyd had to throw 60 punches per round instead of 30 or 40, he'd do it. That's the difference between an average fighter and an elite fighter. We have two elites going against each other. That's why it's so interesting.
I don't think you're actually visualizing what 100 punches per round looks like. So he's going to magically throw DOUBLE the amount of punches on a master boxer of Floyd's level? Really, this is what you honestly think will happen? You know what a counterpunch is right? If you think Manny is going to continually charge Floyd after he gets countered, than I don't know what to tell you. Men who come into the ring outweighing Floyd by over 15 lbs on fight night don't charge him after they feel his counterpunches and lead right shots. They might not be thudding one punch KO shots, but they have enough pop in them to make his opposition second guess what they're doing, and subsequently, have their punch output reduced. I get what you're saying, he needs to throw a lot in this fight in order to have a chance to outpoint him. But you're forgetting the styles of these fighters. Manny is someone that can be timed, and if you time him before he starts throwing his combination punches, he has to reset himself. When he does this, his punch output goes down dramatically. Lastly, this isn't 2005, and I what mean by that is Manny doesn't fight 2 plus minutes per round anymore. Maybe it's due to old age, or maybe it's because he's become a better boxer under Roach's tutelage and is just more judicious with his punch output. But the guy absolutely doesn't fight 2 plus minutes per round anymore, and it correlates perfectly with his punching output decline in the last 5 plus years. He also is known for taking rounds off here and there by the mid-late rounds. SO essentially all of these things that I've mentioned won't be happening in your mind, and he'll be able to get off 1200 punches in a fight against arguably one of the 5 most skilled technical boxers in the history of the sport. No offense, but your ****ysis is a fantasy, and there's no statistical evidence from any of Manny's fights from the last half decade that can corroborate your far fetched idea that Manny will be throwing 100 punches per round. It's wishful thinking from someone with a bias disposition.
At least Tyson is sticking with his word and previous prediction. He's not changing now that the fight is on like 50 cent and other clowns.
Bradley or Marquez didn't throw anywhere near 100 punches per round. Bradley gave him some fits with footwork and upper body movement to get away from punches. And Marquez gave him nightmares with counter punching :deal
i've been telling people no defensive fighter has had much luck vs Pacquiao. Clottey was an extreme where he simply didn't throw much and was very defensive, it's didn't work. Algieri was defensive, it didn't work. Bradley really lost twice to Pac, defensive style didn't quite work that well. Pacquiao has 5 lossses - 1 robbery, 3 KO's and 1 loss by decision to Morales, who he later KO'd twice subsequent to that loss. Morales was not defensive in that fight, he was fairly aggressive and threw a lot of punches. JMM couldn't quite get the decision until he KO'd Pac. beating Pacquiao without KO'ing him is extremely difficult. Usually, Floyd's style doesn't work well against Manny but Floyd does it so well that he may be able to do it. Needless to say, it's an interesting fight
