Most of Tyson's stoppage losses came from him being exhausted. His only legitimate knockout losses came from Holyfield and Douglas. Even Lennox lewis fight, Tyson wasn't out cold, it was more " I can't take anymore " Sort of stoppage. He took a beating that took it out of him and that was that. Most Certianly has a very good chin. Awesome chin actually.
No one ruined his chin, it was always solid. His late career knockouts came as a result of a lack of conditioning and desire (and the injury vs Williams).
Tyson had an excellent chin. Not unstoppable but he could certainly take big punches from big hitters.
Tyson had a very good chin, he fought some very big hitters and when he was stopped he had to be beaten down. Tyson's style was all about being the aggressor when things were not going his way he really didn't know how to box defensively to survive, all he could do was fight back harder and when he was hurt clinch and hope to clear his head and then go right back to being aggressive. This is why when he lost he was always stopped.
Like any boxer who has an iron chin, it eventually erodes the longer your career is and the more flush shots you take. Also, mental strength can also have an impact on how well you stand up to a shot. Anywho, Tyson did have a great chin, as in, it stopped being great later in his career.
Tyson had a iron chin took big shots off smith Bruno and Ruddock those guys could really hit .later in his career he took more shots and his chin got tested.
Let's see you take some of those shots tough guy. The problem with Mike wasn't his chin, it was first class, it was that she simply got hit too many times while fighting good/great punchers. Both Douglas and Lewis had to deliver prolonged beatings before Tyson would go down. It might have been up there with McCall's or Chuvalo's chin's but it wasn't much worse.
