Most unbeatable fighter I ever saw, in his prime. People should never forget just how dominant this guy was, and it should have been for a great deal longer but never happened for a number of reasons (and let's not get into them now) It would be absolutely ridiculous if Mike wasn't inducted into the hall of fame. He had a lot of bad intentions for sure, but that brought the paying public back to a dying sport and he's still being talked about to this day, 21 years after he won his first title. Make no mistake, Mike Tyson was a GREAT fighter.
Tyson was Heavywieght boxing in the late 80s, he not only was a great fighter with the hand speed of a middlewieght and the power of giant but made the average person watch boxing again. He might not of had the career of Ali but had equal or greater impact on the sport itself, if Tyson doesnt not get inducted into the boxing hall of fame it would be a travesty.
If a guy won an Olympic gold, turned pro at welter wt, cleaned up the division to become undisputed at 19 yrs old, moved up to 154, did the same thing there, kept moving up and unifying all the way to heavywt, made 25 consecutive successful defences of the undisputed heavywt title, retired at 36, undefeated with a record of 70-0-0 (70 Ko's), raped and axe-murdered his ex-wife and ex-mother-in-law right after his last fight, would he be Hall of Fame material ? (An extreme and unlikely scenario, but...) Without a doubt, Mike will be inducted into the Boxing HOF.

Hmm, let's see guys, Ray Mancini was inducted in the hall and most consider Gatti HOF bound(which is sickening). Not only is Tyson an ATG and the first Undisputed champ post-Ali era, but he is one of the most recognisable boxers of all time. Some people say Gatti should be inducted due to his fame and attention he brought to the sport, well, Tyson has that fame and attention x20 and is an ATG on top of it. Worthless thread and if anyone actually argued that Tyson is not an ATG or HOF bound, then that poster needs to be abused for it.
he's HOF bound, but first he's Prison bound...let's see if he changes his religion again...it didnt help the first time around.... But U still gotta love him...
I hope not. He was a thrilling fighter, but ultimately it's achievement that counts. The blood, sweat, and hard work you put in to defeat quality opponents. Once people start putting emotion into it it becomes messy.
