Povetkin is terrific, 2nd best of his era, and just unfortunate that his era overlaps a bit with the very long Klitschko era or else he'd be the dominant guy in the division for some years now...

But he isn't clear-cut better than prime Donovan Ruddock, I don't think.

 

Prime Tony Tucker and Michael Spinks were as good as Povetkin probably.

 

Holmes, Spinks, Tucker, Ruddock, maybe even Bruno.

Saying that Povetkin isn't head and shoulders above these guys is no insult.

 

If Tyson fought Potvekin in Russia, tyson would blast dough boy so far out of the ring that neighboring countries would think it was and incoming missile attack!

Fact. Tyson only lost when he fought great fighters.

 

Saying Povetkin is outright better than anybody Tyson beat is a big leap.

I would, however, say with confidence that Povetkin would be competitive with anybody that Tyson beat.

 

ruddock was shot to bits in 95 when he fought morrison / ruddocks prime was short due to tyson ruining him ruddocks prime was 89 to 91 = ruddock knocks out povetkin ....
