Um...Ok still not as impressive as Vitali's comeback after 1,400 days off and beating World HW Champ Samuel Peter making him quit on his stool. Tyson's a big MMA fan now :smoke
Holyfield beats 1986 Tyson, Holy beats 1987 Tyson, Holy beats 1988 Tyson, Holy beats 1989 Tyson, etc. Overall, Holyfield was a better fighter than ANY version of Tyson.
Nah, Holy was fine. His heart problem was no big deal. He took lots of Growth Hormone to help him (by his own admission).
some people really needs to watch tyson 80's matches again, some of his opponent did NOT scared of him but that did not prevent him from dominating them you really think guy like Ribalta afraid of him? no, but that didnt change the fact Tyson power floored him again and again. Ruddock never afraid of Tyson but Tyson get the better of him in both fights. You gotta admit even post Douglas lost Tyson still has what it takes to beat the best out there but for some reason he fcked himself up... no head movement, no footwork, no accuracy just trying to catch opponent's head directly.
He was definately still a force to be reckoned with in those first few years out of prison. I reckon only Holy and Lewis could've beaten him. He won the WBC and WBA heavyweight titles in his third and fourth fight back after 4 years away from the ring. That in itself is amazing, regardless of the opposition he beat. He came back looking still as fearsome as before he was locked up. Even after his ban he smashed Golota in 2. It was only after that he started to look like he was fading in the Neilsen fight and then was a shadow of himself vs Lewis.
Leaving Rooney and the team that took him to that level had alot to do with that. It was all down him from there. I reckon Robin Givens ****ed him up the most by feeding him those pills for the so-called manic despression she had him diagnised with. Mike stopped being the personable guy he looked like through the media and started hating everyone, including himself, with that suicide attempt. He just didn't give a **** anymore and he had no-one pull him back into line.
erm so vitali wasnt in prison, and came back to fight 'the nigerian nightmare' ...WOW amazing! atsch ****ing bitchko nuthuggers
Tyson did have a respectable comeback, but it could have been so much more, and I think thats what a lot of "boxing people" feel too. Tyson was probably 60% of himself but that was good enough to compete on the top level but not be a dominate force, which he might have been if he took it more seriously.
