Are these kind of events good for making more people watch boxing or not?

Since the **** you till you love me was directed at a reporter, not a boxer, it's a bit different.

I think the brawls are good though, it's excitement, it's controversy, more importantly it's attention.

****, look at this board today, every single topic has been about it, no stupid mayweather and pacquiao threads or anything like that

    It's a talking point

Any publicity is good publicity, this is evident in the attention this weekend has brought to the sport.

Chisora got more headlines from that brawl than he wouldve got if he beat Vitali

Brawls like that cant happen every week but they do generate interest & get people talking

How dull would the sport be if everyone smiled & was polite all the time, or if they wrote letters like Wlad did?

If you asked a random person yesterday "have you heard of derek chisora" they would have said "who?", ask them now, and its most likely "yeah the boxer who was fighting with david haye on the news?!"

    so..yes

Obviously. Any publicity is good publicity. Stuff like this being splashed over the papers gets people interested and talking about Boxing. We are in desperate need of characters such as Chis and Haye. Yeah these guys are plonkers but they create excitement and controversy. We need that.

Best thing that has happened in the Heavyweight division in years. "Gsora tries to save heavywight division" should be the headline that goes around the world! C level fighter who fought like a small man should fight . . . how can ya not love the guy?

I voted no, because when you look at the bigger picture no they're not.

They might be good to hype one fight and the hardcore and their friends love a bit of publicity for the sport, but stuff like this just turns the general public away from it in the long run.

Anyway i hope Chisora gets to deal with Haye.

 Watching the news now and some Brit boxing identity said,

"This guys are trying to build themselves up as a sort of Mike Tyson. Trouble is, you gotta fight like Mike Tyson and these guys don't fight like Mike Tyson"
