If its one person I feel sorry for its Mike. He may have been a **** in his early life but now I do think he is trying to right many wrongs.

I was really impressed with Mike and disapointed with the interviewer, especially mentioning his daughter, I was horrified.

^ Sky news is scum. I watch my news on CNN.

Discussing his life story on Oprah was appropriate, but this was a casual interview like 10 minutes long, so you don't bring up certain subjects.

You want the man to talk about his time in jail, the Desiree Washington thing, the Holyfield incident, his trash talking and threats before a fight, his daughters death, his religious views and his views on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in 10 minutes? **** man. Go watch the documentary Dermott.

Yeah I read the article/post before I watched it and they made a big deal out of it but when I watched it, Tyson was offended and upset but he had it completely under control.

He had ten minutes and there is a lot about Mike Tysons life that news viewers as opposed to boxing fans would want to know about. Any journalist that didn't broach those subjects is failing in his duties. Its that simple. Mikes life has been very very public. good times and bad. In the brief time available, what could a non boxing journalist do?

Going on TV with a serious journalist, you are going to get asked serious questions. Mike handled it well. That is what boxing fans got from it. He has shown a level of maturity there. if that is what was highlighted by this interview, then great. you wouldn't get that with a soft line of questioning.

All this hate is rooted in ignorance. I saw a post on the Brit forum with someone stating they could have done a better job.....Fine. That may be true, but the next interview five minutes later with the editor in chief of a heavyweight political journal wouldn't have gone so well I wouldn't have thought. I'll say it again. This was a basic investigative interview. No more, no less.

Tyson has been in the spotlight for years, and im sure that everyone knows what kind of person he was, the interviewer could have asked him anything, but asking about his daughter and how how he was gonna eat his opponents children wtf.....how about asking him what he is up to right now, about making the movie, whats his future plans, how was it growing up in brooklyn, if the british audiences dont know where that is.

When Iron Mike Tyson is a boxer he knows who he is, Mike Tyson the man is one complex and confused individual.

He did ask about Brooklyn and he did ask about what his future plans were.

I take it from this thread that people are more comfortable with a nice compliant, interview that doesn't really get to the core of the man. This interview was designed to get that. I think it delivered, although maybe not in the fashion the interviewer intended.

As difficult as some of these subjects were for Mike, they do reveal a lot more about him. If we are more interested on his thoughts on boxing, then when asked about that, Mike didn't offer an awful lot did he?

    David Haye? ....I don't know.

The man is fighting for a world title this week and Mike Tyson doesn't know.

Where do you rank in terms of the heavyweights?

Thats not really important to me.

Instead of railing against Murnaghan for not knowing what he is talking about, not one person has come on here and said that maybe Tyson had some responsibility to go on a show and know what he is talking about?

Tyson came on in a good mood, well up for answering any reasonable questions and seemed happy to be there. Then the interviewer thought he could casually slip in about his daughter? I think whoever came up with those questions was a joke and unfair.
