The skill gap was too big for Douglas as well.

Go read his Instagram account. It’s a virtual circle jerk from his fans over 5 second clips of 54 y/o Tyson hitting the pads and talking pseudo tough trash.

I hope RJJ beats the crap out of him tbh if it happens. He deserves no less.

Sharkey, Marciano and Schmeling were not champions from over a century ago.

Give me your list, because without any credentials you're just a keyboard warrior who is dumb enough to believe that you're a superhero.

Fitzsimmons could find anybody, again I don't see any reason to mention that. Is Ali a bad boxer because he got hit a lot by Frazier?

I'm not calling him a master boxer, but a lot of contemporaries were very high on his skillset at the end of his career. I think that he was a brawler who could box just fine, but sometimes relied too much on his physical attributes.

I'd love to see them prime vs prime. It would have been a competitive fight in my opinion.

This thread is about prime vs prime, properly prepared.
Tyson was not properly prepared vs Douglas and past his prime (86-88). So the skill gap was not as you say.
Even a prime Tyson did not have such a huge gap. He was certainly better than Douglas, but not by a huge gap.
He is compared to the turn of the century old timers.

How about using film? That only shows what happened!

On film, Johnson works his clinch vs. shorter men like Burns, Flynn and Ketchel. The average weight there is low, and the skill level of Ketchel and Flynn is very low. Here we can see Johnson hitting and holding. By the way, I think Tyson would beat these three men combined inside of six rounds!

I don't see his clinching working much vs. Moran, who was not that big and he didn't even attempt it vs. Willard. Facts we can see. Your reaction to the obvious in the films is what?

Please show me one example where Johnson was able to manhandle a guy in his prime, his size or greater? He could not manhandle a 190 pound Marvin Hart. He could not hit and hold a bigger Jim Johnson either.

Lufcrazy, you'd be a much better poster is you can admit the obvious, instead of digging your heels into the improbable. Here's your chance.

Because you don't watch film. I've just made a thread about it.

    Not an elf at all.

Its Lyanna Mormont the zombie Giant killing all time badass tweener! She’d make Tyson her girlfriend.

:nononoI'm one of the few here who breaks down film, and have seen every Jack Johnson film out there, including some workouts and all docs.

You're the guy who counts invisible punches on films when reviewing rounds, remember?

Prime for prime I pick Tyson.

If Tyson turns up as he did for Douglas, I pick Johnson.

This doesn't even slightly relate to the post you've quoted.
