i could never really put these three in a order of punching power, they all punched extremely hard but with a different fundemental for each.

tysons power came alot from his speed generated from powerful legs, at his prime a head and body combination one punch knockout artist... unheard of.

lewis had levarage like a catapolt that would generated all his weight and power to pin heel into his fist. possesed the ability to deliver his right at such a range that defense would not be sacrificed.

tua had tremendous strength in his core that would be loyal to him through the whole fight. i think he may be the all time leader in late round stoppages.

I think for pure punching power Tua has to be right up there...as you mentioned Lewis and Tyson also had other attributes that helped them deliver their payload more effectively.

Perhaps Tua's looks a little better because its the best part of his arsenal by a long shot..The rest of his game apart from his chin is not strong at the elite level.

    Tua was a great finisher.

I would say Tyson. I think he sparked better opponents. By that factor Lewis would also rank above Tua.

    1. Tua
    2. Tyson
    3. Lewis

As far as one punch power, I'd say Tua was the hardest hitter of the 3. His left hook has put many world class opponents to sleep, his only problem is that as he got older, he stopped throwing in combination's and became more limited, but he had one punch knockout power. Tyson was a heavy hitter as well, but normally when he fought world class opponents, it took him rounds of a systematic beating to get his opponent out. Lewis( who i rank highly on an all time great scale) had power but not the power of the above 2. If he did, i don't think Klitschko would have been standing after taking all of those punches, same with Marovich.

I think Tua has the most power, Tyson and Lewis have similar power.

Tyson had better two-fisted power than the other two, and he had a selection of punches he could knock you out with, but Tua may be the harder one-punch hitter. His hook was a monster.
Lewis' right uppercut and cross was also a huge weapon.

    Tua
    Tyson
    Lewis

In terms of pure power, Tua's hard to top. His left hook is as hard a punch as has ever been thrown, Tyson could hit better with both hands than Tuaman but Tyson's speed and delivery was as important or more than his pure power.

Lewis was also probably a better two fisted bomber than Tuaman, but I don't think he has a punch in his arsenal more powerful than Tua's left hook. Tyson is a better puncher than Lewis because of the handspeed, but Lewis had more brute power imo. So I'd rank it,

    1. Tua
    2. Lewis
    3. Tyson

Overall, I'd say Tyson has the most power with respect to both hands. Lennox Lewis' right hand is a harder punch than Tyson's, but his left hook is not as hard a punch as Tyson.

As for Tua, his left hook is harder than both Tyson and Lewis, but I don't think his right hand, although a very hard punch compares to Tyson and Lewis.

    Left hook, Tua, Tyson, Lewis

    Right hand, Lewis, Tyson, Tua

Both hands combined, Tyson, Lewis, Tua

All are at the very end of the power-scale; i don't think you can reasonably separate them, apart from stating that Tua and Tyson have a better left hook than Lewis, while Lewis has the better right hand than them.

Agree with you ChrisPontius. Lennox I believe has the better right hand but Tyson's right hand power I wouldn't say is that far off from Lennox.

You are right, Mike scored one-punch knockouts against Botha, Tillman, and Spinks. Okay, he was hurt already, but it was still one punch that completely discombobulated him, something no one else did. Also let's not forget that devastating right hand that sent Holmes falling like an oak tree, or the one that nearly took Michael "Jack" Johnson's head off..

Tyson and Lewis' right hands are probably even. That leaves Tua as the "weaker" right handed puncher of the three.

there could be a argument that lewis has the better right hand by looking at andrew golota. tyson was landing his right hand at will but golota retired on his stool instead of the blow out against lewis. of course that was a past prime tyson.

Depends. Tyson at his best had tremendous speed behind his power. The way he knocked guys like Spinks, Frazier, Berbick, and Thomas was unbelievable. Lewis had a lot of power, but it was based more on his length and size behind it. Tua was probably the hardest puncher overall, but when putting the other intangibles behind their power Tua probably ranks last behind Lewis and Tyson.

    Left Hook-Tua
    Right Hand-Lewis
    All around puncher-Tyson

I would say Tua's hook was harder than anything Tyson or Lewis had in their arsenal, but I can't imagine it was to that large a degree. He also had the weakest right hand.
